Stone is 9' high grey granite. It is West of G. Scharff g rave. Cowles family buried on other side of shared stone . Stone does not show month and day of death.

See page 744 "Mahaska County History Otis has Ancestral File Number KJ4Z-SH7. Otis Owned 1000 Acre Ranch in Canada, a gas line through farm, he wasgiven free gas. The ranch house sat on the lake, could open bedroom window and fish out of it. Moved to Iowa, the foreman kept telling that there was a total crop failure (stealing the crop profits). O.A. let the farm go for taxes. The foreman then bought the farm for the back taxes.

Told of Jesse James staying in the barn quite often. Jesse was very popular with the people, since he helped the poor . The final straw that turned him into a outlaw was when the government threw his family off of the farm. The tussle killed his mother who was sick.

"Since O. A. Martin had little book learning, at the age of 40 he took a course in order to be able to better express himself by way of poetry and prose. He wrote his first poem at the age of 56, Jan. 27, 1912. He had memorized over fifty readings and was often called upon to be the entertainment for meetings such as college, schools, farmers Grange meetings etc." By Sylvia Westercamp. He was Sylvia's mother's father.

Cemetary stone is 9' high gray granite west of Garrett Scharff Grave. Is a shared stone with Cowles family. Mary Jane CLARY and Otis Albert MARTIN were married on 14 February 1879.

	iv.	Eva Grace MARTIN⁴ was born on 12 February 1888 in Lacey, Mahaska County, Iowa, USA. In 1911 she was a School Teacher. She died in Deceased.
	v.	Bertha Adell MARTIN⁴ was born on 18 April 1890. She died in 1940 at the age of 50.
	vi.	Calista Faye MARTIN⁴ was born on 15 April 1893 in Lacey, Mahaska County, Iowa, USA. She died in 1990 at the age of 97. She nickname Littie .
