Immediately after his father's death, or on June 7, and Dec ember 7, 1763, as the son and heir, he sold to Henry Hall o f Anne Arundel County, Merchant, one of the parental planta tions, described as portion of a tract sold by the Rev. Hen ry Hall to Jacob Henderson and Robert Tyler, lying on the w est side of the Patuxent. Elizabeth Denune his wife waive d dower before Mordecai Jacob and Robert Tyler, two Justice s of the Peace for the County. On October 12, 1765, he wit h his wife joining in the deed (indicating that acquisitio n was through the wife) sold to Richard Butt for 100 pound s sterling "Samuel's Choice", which adjoined the plantatio n of Richard Butt. And on April 19, 1766, he mortgaged slav es to Ann Brown, widow. A complete list of his children i s not available, but inasmuch as the name is not common, tw o sons have been placed. There is no record of William Denu ne taking the Oath of Allegiance and Fidelity in Maryland d uring 1778, though he certainly must have been living in th e State at that time. The 1790 census fails to show him o r his sons as heads of families. No will was probated in Pr ince Georges County nor any letters of administration issu ed on his estate. He died in 1778 at the age of 37 in Valley Forge, Chester County, Pennsylvania, USA. He was a Medical Doctor. After the death of his father William, jr. inherited his father's property. So, immediately after his father's death, or on June 7, and December 7, 1763; he sold to Henry Hall one of his parental plantations. Elizabeth Denune waived dower before two Justices of the Peace. On October 12, 1765 he sold to Richard Butt, land adjoining his property, and on April 19, 1766 he mortgaged slaves to Ann Brown. For a number of years the members of the family were reduced to tenant farmers in Maryland, and the family seems to have disintegrated. It was not until the mid 19th century that some of the descendants retrieved their former position. William, jr fought in the French and Indian war and enlisted in the Continental Army as a resident of Prince Georges County. William was a revolutionary war minuteman who marched from Maryland to Boston for the Battle of Bunker Hill and probably died at Valley Forge, PA, in the Winter of 1777-8. Elizabeth Duvall FORREST and Dr. William Jr DENUNE were married on 23 February 1762. 245. Elizabeth Duvall FORREST4 was born on 12 October 1737.
